This summer I have been given a great opportunity through my church, The Summit Church, to participate in “The City Project.” It’s an 8 week program in which I will be taking two seminary courses, doing an internship at the church, and helping with different community service projects in Durham, NC on a weekly basis. However, I’m most excited about two mission trips we will be taking. At the beginning of the summer, we will be going to New York City to do mission work and community outreach. At the end of the summer we will be going to Kenya for two weeks. There, we will be visiting villages, orphanages, helping build water wells and volunteering at local churches. It has been a lifelong dream to be able to go Africa, so I’m excited beyond words to finally be able to do this.
I’m writing you now to ask for your support. First, I would love for your prayer support. We need your prayer in preparation for the busy summer that lies ahead and prayers throughout the summer. Pray that we would really use this summer to grow in our relationship with the Lord and that we would stay healthy and safe. I would also love your prayers as I search for a job this summer.
In addition, I would also greatly appreciate financial support. My goal is $4,500 in order to pay for the cost of the mission trips, the travel costs, seminary classes, and our living accommodations.
